Having cut the recommended length off the stopdown lever on some zeiss cy lenses I find the film bodies wont couple anymore. Following Fenwoodian's experience that the earth wire for the spring ring makes no difference I did the mod this morning (filed off some of the back of the original mount and cut off the m42adapter lock from the spring ring). Yes the wire broke off in the process, and no it made no difference to the functioning of the camera.
With the mod the lens rotates anticlockwise into the mount so the aperture and focus markings are on top, but more importantly the stop down no longer fouls the mirror. The lack of sealing ring with the adaptist mount is problematic because there was some lint getting in.
Edit; the adaptist mount allows the correct register distance with the c/y mount - the inner ring is deeper. Also my stopdown lever surgery was over zealous and if you cut just the right amount off then it works still with the film body. Maybe there's a way of getting a sealing o-ring into the adaptist mount. Sadly the adaptist site states that there is no more stock.

Reason: found that the adaptist mount allows infinity with c/y lenses
