Do anyone know where I might find a Pentax soft case to fit the F*300, or an equivalent quality 3rd party brand case that will fit?

Thanks for any suggestions.

More than what you will need but the biggest of the 3 should fit the F*300,

FWIW the stock case requires you to remove the tripod foot each time you store it. A larger case would be more convenient, IMO.

The case that came with the SMC FA* 300mm f/4.5 lens is the S90-160 which you can see here - Pentax S90-160 Lens Case (Soft) 33929 B&H Photo Video

Actually NO. The F* 300mm f4.5 came with a special soft case which was rectangular in shape and closed with a zipper. The case had a special fitting for the long tripod foot.

My 1997 Pentax price guide lists this case as the SS10-22. You can see a side view of the case here.

Thanks, that case looks great. Now to just fine one. In the meantime may opt for a neoprene.

I'm sure you must know, although I received ONLY LAST WEEK a unused, boxed lens with the unopened lens case S90-160. My comment also specified the FA* version of the lens (see difference here - http://www.bdimitrov.de/kmp/lenses/primes/extreme-tele/F300f4.5.html). You probably cannot buy an original 1991 case anymore.

The Pentax S110 - 200 case works with the F* 300 4.5 with the tripod foot on. You can find them on eBay sometimes.
