Hey folks,

So this isn't a 'formal' test with numbers and stuff... but thought I'd just share my experience and maybe get some feedback.

I just took some pictures with the DA*16-50 and the DA 40mm Limited Pancake lens. Note that I own a Pentax K100D regular, so the screwdrive motor is driving the DA* lens:

Pentax DA 40mm Ltd:
-Super quick autofocus (less elements I guess?)
-Focus is generally spot-on (I point, beep, and fire).


Pentax DA* 16-50:
-Autofocus is slower than the Pentax DA40mm Ltd, but not too bad. You can hear the motor make very very little adjustments for about a second before it hits the target... well...
-The focus tends to be a little off unless I have it on single-point focusing.

Anyways, all complaining aside, I still like my DA*16-50 (Although I've contemplated going the DA limited route. My DA40 Ltd is RAZOR SHARP!!). But I'm wondering if the old K100D is limiting it's functions?

As in, do you folks think this lens will be considerably better if I had it on a K10D or K200D? (K20D = out of my range).

What about IQ? Bokeh, sharpness, colours? I think the main purpose of stars zoom is to have qualities similar to primes [to me, zooms are evil ].
