Pentax and Takumar mounts interchangeable on the 500mm and 1000mm?

Is the "mount part" on the 500mm f4.5 and the SMC 1000mm f8 interchangeable between both lenses and between Pentax and SMC-Takumar versions on the same focal lenght?

The mounts for the K500/4.5 and the K1000/8 are interchangeable, so I would assume the same holds true for the older Takumar versions.

Switching the mounts between K and M42 MAY work, but I'm not sure.

They are. I had both at one point in M42. Actually, for a short time, I had two 500mm and one 1000mm while sorting out my long glass needs (wants). From what I remember, the K-mount end supposedly swapped with the M42.
