Now that Tamron has a 10-24mm that is weather-sealed for Nikon and Canon...

Dear Ricoh:

Please see/review the following:

"Experience the complete joy of shooting with a compact, ultra-wide-angle zoom
This ultra-wide-angle zoom lens for APS-C DSLR cameras offers the finest of all Tamron worlds: best-in-class* 10-24mm focal length range (the 35mm equivalent of 16-37mm), the compact size of our previous SP AF10-24mm F/3.5-4.5 Di II LD Aspherical [IF] (Model B001), plus vastly improved optical performance. It also includes state-of-the-art Tamron technology like VC (Vibration Compensation), a new HLD (High/Low torque-modulated Drive), Fluorine Coating, and Moisture-Resistant Construction. Combine this with exceptional resolution on everything from detailed landscapes to casual snapshots and you have a next-generation, wide-angle zoom that’s ready to go wherever your photographic vision takes you."

Since it is apparent that Tamron also makes the FX 15-30mm for Pentax, can we please have the new 10-24mm ported for Pentax/Ricoh, and very soon?

Also, we need a new, top-of-the-line Pentax aps-c camera for this and other, newer lenses! (something to compete and/orsurpass the Nikon D500/D7200 and Canon d7II/d80!).

Sincerely, Peter S.

I'd love to get that Tamron lens with a K-mount. A Pentax version would be awesome, but my guess is that it will be even pricier if it eventually comes out.

There is a DA 12-28 on the roadmap. We'll see the new roadmap in a few weeks, maybe it will change.

If we could only get the volumes up to the point where Tamron, Sigma, etc. would include K-mount as a regular option.....

No go on a 12-28mm-not wide enough for us ultra-wide junkies!!! Will be swtiching and selling at that point. Twelve mm at the wide end is passe' and way-outdated, sorry to say...
But that is what is on the roadmap. Unless they go with a rebadged Tamron that is what they are going to offer. There are other 10mm lenses out there...

They may well go with a rebadged Tamron. The 15-30, 24-70 and 18-270 are already rebadged Tamrons...

Yes, there are alreay 10mm lenses out there, but...

Yes, there are already 10mm lenses out there - I have the Sigma 10-20mm, but it is not very sharp - even stopped down - and is not weather-sealed. For the newer sensors, we need higher resolution and spec!

Note in the Tamron description - they are making bold claims about resolution and capablities!

Yes, including a Tamron 10-24 SP Di II, which I own, and love! Not weather sealed, but a very nice lens regardless.

I bought the Sigma 10-20/3.5 over the 10-20/4-5.6 and Tamron 10-24 because everything I saw online showed it to be sharper than the 2 older lenses. I have no complaints about it at all, even though what I really wanted was the 8-16.... I hear good things about the Samyang 10/2.8 too. I can live without WR, I'm sure there are those who can't.

Bah, APS-C. I'd love to see this on FF, especially if it can keep that 77mm filter thread length.

The 3.5 or the variable max aperture one?
I'm looking to buy one as well (the 4-5.6 for budget constraints, used) so I'm interested (not in the Tamron, I bet it's gonna be to expensive for me).

They can keep the 10-24...

I want their new 150-600 G2 with weather sealing in K-mount.

I'll keep dreaming as well...

The wide angle I would love to see in K mount is the Sigma Art 12-24/4.
