Appreciated, thanks.

OK. I have it IN my hand looking at it.
Front barrel ROTATES when focusing. (NO Front lip that turns seperately)
Front barrel DOES NOT rotate when zooming
Filter size is 67mm.
Macro mode clicks into function on the 28mm end
Heavy
Petal/Tulip hood will NOT always be at 12 oclock. (Petal hood WILL Rotate)
Standard collapsible rubber hood WOULD be ideal
about the size of my 18-135 DA WR

As far as image quality ? I have no complaints at all. The wider end is very good , on the long end its still good but lacks color.
I wouldn't pay more than about $30 USD for a nice copy.
I am considering a copy of this, 20 bucks and 10 bucks shipping. However the blades are a bit oily but the seller says that it doesn't affect stop down operations. Should I get that one?

I wouldn't get any lens with oily blades. It may not affect stop down yet , but will it affect slow blades opening back up ?
This would be a NO GO for me at any price.
What country are You in ? Ive been contemplating selling mine and its Mint. PM me if interested.

as for the 35-70, I would recommend Pentax 35-70 Macro..it is an underestimated one, but is a beauty...bright, sharp (enough) wide open with great color rendition and with AF on your Pentax..

Am going for this one: Tamron Adaptall-2 35-70mm F3.5 CF Macro (17A) Lens Reviews - Tamron Adaptall Lenses - Pentax Lens Review Database
Probably going to sell the XR 35-70 as the seller does not offer returns. The Tamron is parfocal which is important to me as I am in a video production course. I also have a Adaptall-2 PKA mount lying around.

I think you are making a smart choice with the Tamron.
