Hows about my "Good Lady” (Pentax-A 20mm F2.8)...

The lens hood was actually rarer than the lens.
Nice hood. Where'd you get it? One of those would look good on my A20/2.8. I didn't realize they were rare? Is the A24/2.8 also considered rare? How about the FA24/2.8?

Rare Pentax lenses in Germany

I cannot comment which lens is rare all over the world, but those lenses took me a long time to find:

- Takumar 58mm F2
- Takumar 50mm Macro F4 early preset 1:1 version

- SMC K50 Macro

I had to order it direct from Pentax Europe as there were none in the UK and even then, they had only one.

Be warned... I've also bought lenses cheaper than this hood.

Must be, look what I bought for my Ladies... an "unholy alliance" if ever there was.

SMC M 75-150 F4 and SMC M 35-70 F2,8-3,5

I also never used the 75-150 but I hear good things about it.
Indeed a very good lens and a sleeper. Sharp and very nice colours.

Together with the great M35-70 F2,8 - 3,5 one of the best manual Pentax zooms and not too heavy.
Well built. No focus creep. Internal Zoom!

It is particular great for the price, one can find it very cheap.

Both those M-zooms have a pretty long focusing distance, which I believe is part of their magic:
Close focusing abilitity seems to compromise IQ.

And yet:
Another great one is the A 70-210! Macro 1:4 at 210mm.
Heavy.. and some zoomcreep which can be a bit annoying.
But it's an A lens and F4 all the way through!

Interesting. I've never seen or read about that lens. Sleeper like the M75~150/4 ZOOM?

.
I think, the 75 - 150 M zoom lens is probably not often offered because it looks like to have no value.
For me it is a very nice and easy macro lens when mounted reverse.

I just pick up a A 20mm f2.8 lens not the cleanest but it takes great pictures, like Kerrowdown above I use it on a Digital K5ii. I really like the Pentax lenses and camera's so much so I'm selling my Nikon D3 which is a beast
It'a been sitting in my closet, the last I used it was 8 months ago, so It's time to go. The money I get from that I'll buy a few more Pentax lenses.

I have a fairly rare Takumar 83mm f1,9 and Takumar 100mm f3,5.

Funny about the Takumar 100mm f2, two have been for sale on eBay and one is still on sale. The price? Well, above my pay grade!

If you think this is uncommon/rare then this would have to be my rarest too.

What makes it even rarer is that it is the only one of its type to have the name of a US public High School engraved around its outer lens barrel. Very unique indeed. I have disguised this uniqueness by covering the silver text with black nail polish lacquer so people wont be tempted to 'borrow' it.
