Originally posted by Mattox I really thought that releasing the k1 there would be a solid line up soon to follow. Yes, there is the trinity line up and old lenses but the market is so competitive now and I really thought Ricoh would have something so fantastic behind the lines to blow the other markets out of the water.
Tamron and Sigma, with their pace of releasing new high end lenses, are starting to change the competitive game. For someone who
want those new lenses, is forced to use another brand of camera.
Anyway, I think of lenses as key to customer retention for a mount. Basically, the more good selling lenses a brand has in its portfolio, the more robust is the customer base. When the next camera models comes, the more lenses you have , the harder to switch. No wonder how Canon have their market share and keep it, given how large is their portfolio of lenses.
