Some lens alright... I am off to the footy tomorrow to put my 55-300mm to the test after getting a front row seat, but this lens would be a dream

What code are you talking of for the footy mate?

I'm going to the MCG AFL

Though I do appreciate AFL (especially live), I'm a Rugby League man all the way. Go the Sharks!

The seller must have forgotten to add a truck to carry it....
As much as I drool over the 400mm and f2.8 I admit I probably wouldn't want to carry this 6kg monster around.....
But of course there is always the A* 1200/8 with it's 8.5kg weight....

Serious lens on the subject of 400's can anybody give a comparison between a SMC Pentax-FA* 400mm F5.6 ED [IF] and a Sigma 50-500. I have the later mounted on a K10D but I'm looking to Prime and the SMC Pentax-FA* 600mm F4 ED [IF] is abit out of reach

Sorry to tell ya guys. This is really a great lens. That is, if it is only half as good as its 300mm conterpart. I happen to have that one, use it a lot with a 1,4 Rear teleconverter, and am very happy about the results. So. If you have the money, and if you can wait for the second Pentax FF dslr before upgrading, and if you don't mind some muscle exercise, ... you NEED to buy this lens.

Or wait for a sample of the 300/2.8 to be posted somewhere of course.

I would pass that up for a mint A* 85mm 1,4 in a heartbeat but it would be cool to own. bragging rights anyone?
