He he. My source for a reasonable adaptor dried up. (Sold!) But in any case I'm still awaiting the lens.

I recall seeing Jay with a genuine adapter in Marketplace. If it is still available and I hope Jay can consider selling it to Robin to make this thread complete.

By the way, if you ever want to LBA on M42 lens, besides this forum, I highly recommend the site in M42 Art Limited

and I have included it in a blog post which I share the frequent places that I go research on lens as part of the LBA fun activities

He offered me dibs on one, but it required buying a lens. I just bought 8 lenses so that wasn't in the cards. The UK dealer advertising one actually had it sold.

Maybe the aperture linkage pin had been removed and there wasn't sufficient penetration.

The Deed Is Done

Thanks to Richard in Canada I now have an adapter attached to the K100DS and screwed onto that the Vivitar lens designated M1: "Vivitar Series 1 / 28mm 1:1.9 / VMC / Auto Wide Angle / No. 37xxxxxx / 58MM".

I've even taken some (bad) pictures.

Waiting for a lens hood, which this sucker really needs.

Please commence all puns referencing "screw" and "hood".

At an emergency meeting of the M42 Advisory Committee this morning you were declared a M42 Bloodied Veteran. Woo Hoo, a Virgin no longer!!!

Post a bad picture, a good picture, something in between. Post it here. Then all of who have so much emotional capital invested in this thread can return to our homes and loved ones and once again resume our normal lives.

I mean this has been more stressful than the scene where the Villain says to Little Nell, "If you don't give me the deed to the ranch, I'm going to tie you to the railroad tracks. And Little Nell says NOOOOOOO!!! So he grabbed her, and he tied her up, and he THREW HER ON THE RAILROAD TRACKS. AND A TRAIN STARTED COMING...

Zeiss Distagon T* 2/35 It's new and is available as M42. Maybe you won't like it and will send it to me as punishment. Please don't do that to me. Send it to Mike Cash and maybe he will quit touting Takumars.
