kamelip; i returned mine today; it had too rough of a drop to maximum zoom (i.e. turning too easily to 30mm and making unhealthy sounds). perhaps this is a common malfunction with the model?

I have owned or used three of the DFA 15-30s and found them all to be excellent. I still think most of this is just very subjective. the lens has been available for a year and this is the first we have heard of this. Please don't just assume that there is something wrong with a model because a couple of users see problems.
