DA 60-250 Parts question

Hi All, one of the two gold/copper colored contacts on my lens broke off.
The contact assembly is held in by two small screws and would be easy to
replace if i could find the part. Does anyone know if it is possible to buy this
part
Thanks Bob

Pentax / Ricoh does not sell parts to consumers. You could contact an authorized repair center and ask if they would order them for you. Or have them do the repair.

This might help: https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/189-repairs-warranty-service/316284-pent...e-listing.html

I don't think Precision will order parts for you. Advance in Oregon may.

If those are the SDM contacts you might be able to convert to screw drive only.

No screw-drive on the DA*60-250, I'm afraid... SDM only.

If you mean the little pins... I fixed a da* 16-50 with one from a cheapo broken tamron.

The original owner tried to fix it and lost one of those gold pins and the tiny spring under it.. I had to cut the tamron spring to fit and it was hard to get all lined up... But worked perfectly

.... If you mean the flat gold contacts on the sdm chip itself, you might be able to fill that area with solder, just gotta make the electrical connection, that'll be trickier

If it's the SDM contacts that are damaged then you might be able to use the power zoom contacts from an old film era lens as a replacement. They look to be the same size and location but I don't know if it would be a straight swap or if some modification would be needed. Old 28-80s with PZ are plentiful and cheap.

It seems PZ contacts can be made to work as a replacement. A quick search brought this thread which describes a similar repair: DA* 55 1.4 SDM contact damaged / repaired. - PentaxForums.com

Technically it does have a screw drive feature which will work on non sdm bodies. However no one has been able to successfully convert one to screw drive. Conversion attempts on working lenses usually yield weird intermittent results with the screw drive working for just a moment or so and then the sdm kicks in. On broken sdm lenses this is more if a jerky movement then nothing.

Broken or blocked sdm contacts do not enable screw drive either they only result in loss of sdm power.
