Current Pentax 50mm primes on K-1?

My fastest lens so far...
Is my A 50/1.7 which I use on an APS-C body. Considering the low price, it's IQ is totally satisfying for me. Fast enough in most conditions, compact build.
Concerning a F1.2 AF lens, I've read rumours that Pentax manufactured samples in the past or at least tried to develop some. I know that AF cameras need at least an aperture of F5.6/F8 to work properly, but why would F1.2 be "too fast“? Can someone explain it to me? How does Canon make it work?
