A lens that I am hoping for

Having received my KS1 yesterday, the search for my perfect camera is over. Now i am searching for that perfect lens. I am letting my imagination run wild here with hopes that something similar will be made for K mount. So here it goes:
DA 16mm f1.8
DA 70mm f2.4 macro
What would be your perfect lens?

The 70 Macro (or at least close focus) can be obtained by the use of deglassed PkA/R extension tubes and/or Raynox-type front dioptre filters. But if you want a brand new build you may as well make a D-FA version.

Id rather have a DA version FA would have to cover a larger image circle. So more glass and more bulk. I like my lenses as small and light as they can be. Anyway FA macro already exists in a rather good 100mm telephoto version.

The D FA 100mm is pretty tiny. I think an APS-C only version wouldn't be much smaller, if any

Samyang has a 16mm F2 which is pretty good:

I doubt a 16/1.8 would be small and light And personally I don't really see the point with super fast wide lenses. I find the DA15 to do a splendid job as a very compact wide angle lens. And you already have some great macros in the DA35, DFA50, and DFA100. They are all quite compact as far as macros go. The Sigma 70/2.8 macro weighs in at 525g but is a also a great lens from what I've seen from it.

Now, that wasn't the point of your post, sorry...

My "perfect lens" will be a set of lenses:
DA15 for wide
FA43 and DA70 for small alrounders
DFA100 for macro and short fast tele (combined with the DA1.4x TC fro more reach/magnification)

The one that doesn't really exist is "my perfect tele zoom" (the one area where I prefer zoom over prime). The DA55-300 is good and light, but I would love to have something a tad faster - but without having to lug 2kg of glass around. The DA60-250 is a good candidate, but a bit short for my needs - so I'll stick to the 55-300 for now.

A 70mm lens on a cropped camera is the equivalent of a whopping 105mm. Do you think you are going to be shooting at that distance often ? This is why I sold my 77mm f1.8 , it just wasn't getting any use. Now that the K1 is out I want that lens back...

With the new PLM 55-300 there is an opportunity to put that tech in new lenses; perhaps a a new HD DA 35 f/2.4 WR PLM, a HD DA 55 f1.4 WR PLM or a HD DA 200 f/4 WR PLM? The lenses wouldn't have to be built like the battle tanks that DA* lenses are and that would help keep pricing more affordable. Fast focusing high quality WR primes with near silent AF would make a lot of sense. They would be the perfect partner for the Weather sealed camera bodies. I have the HD DA Ltd primes and I'd buy everyone of those suggested HD DA WR PLM lenses - I'd also have to upgrade my K-5II to a PLM capable body:-)

Longer range of macro lenses is actually quite useful as you can be further from your subject and not shade it or scare it away. That said 100mm is a bit too long for my taste for general photography needs (APS-C shooter here).
And the flood of 24mm f1.4 ff lenses just how how popular large aperture uwas are are. I know plenty of use for a uwa with bright aperture.
@Adam i know i own a Samyang 16 2.0

Non-SDM (i.e. DC?) HD updates of the existing DA* 55, 200, and 300mm lenses, please. Optical-design-wise there is little need for change, as far as I'm concerned. But if I spend that much on a lens I, for which I need to save up for quite a while, I want something more trust-inspiring than the "traditional" SDM.

Also wonder what has happened to that DA Wide zoom on the K-Mount roadmap? Is it in the making? Otherwise, an SP- and HD-coated update of the DA14, or an even shorter prime would be desirable.

Generally, Pentax, keep making awesome primes that render like prime lenses, and resist the measurebaters' relentless calls for bragworthy, hypercorrected, zillions-of-elements primes that render like, well, high-element zoom lenses. Just my two bits.

Best two lens combo for little KS1 : 21mmLtd + 70mm Ltd
If you want macro, go for : 21mm Ltd + 100mm Macro
If you want more angle : 15mm Ltd + 100mm Macro
You can add later a 35mm, Macro or not, or a 43mm for a desirable trio set.

That's a great idea. They should redesign all 06-07 SDM lenses with DC, and add HD coatings in the process.

21mm full frame ƒ4. I Love the 21 ltd on APS-c. If it was full frame lens a bit slower but the same size I'd be absolutely over the moon. It would go every where with me. 21 and 40xs and DA* 60-250, what a combo that would be.

Maybe give the FA20-35/4 a try - there's one in the marketplace right now from a reputable seller.
