Nikon as I recall replaced the 55mm f/2.8 macro (micro) with a 60mm. (Sorry I just saw it was already commented on.)

And I also think the difference between 50 and 60 is likely to be significant. Small differences are not small when it comes to camera handling/perception.

I see the Venus 60mm actually has a review:

I would just go with the DA *55 and do a slight crop.

There's also the Contax Zeiss Makro-Planar--I think it came in the MMJ flavor, but it's not listed as one of the "Leitaxable" C/Y lenses--perhaps our more knowledgeable gearheads will chime in.

Focal lengths

Fujifilm has three between 50 and 90:
Fujinon XF 56mm f1.2 R
Fujinon XF 56mm f1.2 R APD
Fujinon XF 60mm f2.4 R MACRO

plus another rumoured for September release:
Fujinon XF 80mm f2.8 R LM OIS MACRO

Unfortunately, the short flange distance for these lenses means there's no adapter for XF to K mount.

The closest lens to 60 mm is possibly the Voigtlander Nokton 58mm f1.4. While it is a FF lens, I love the lens on my K-3 and K-7.

Is there a lot of difference between 50mm, 58mm, 70mm, 77 mm and 85 mm? Not really as others have pointed. But.... I feel that each lens is unique by its colours and rendering. Albeit I have lenses between 50mm, 58mm, 77mm and 85mm, there are (almost) all special. The Voigtlander Nokton 58mm is my favourite. Very close, the FA77mm Limited. And not far the Carl Zeiss 85mm f1.4. Each has its own character and strength. I use all three and would not part away. Great IQ in all cases. That leaves me with my two 50mm: A50mm f1.2 for very low light, and FA50mm f1.5 (that I do not use much).

I hope that he comment may help.
I was really thinking about the Voigtlander Nokton 58mm(beautiful lens in and out) but it's hard to find one in a Pentax mount.

This Fujifilm people is making a quiet revolution. An awesome product.

And even if the adapter did exist all of Fuji's current X system lenses focus by wire, and won't work without power.

Yes, the Venus 60mm is a fully manual lens. This means it doesn't even have an aperture linkage, so as soon as you turn the aperture ring, the aperture immediately goes to your chosen setting (instead of only stopping down when you hit the shutter, which is the behavior of all lenses with an aperture linkage). In this respect, it's like shooting with an m42 lens.

Except that we already have a 50mm D-FA Macro and that's such a classical focal length that Pentax won't go out of their way to build another within 10mm of it. Other companies without a history, or operating on different platforms (e.g. mirrorless) can afford to diverge in that regard.

Pentax's 58mm heritage goes all the way back to the preset Takumars but unfortunately seems to have remained there, while other companies have perpetuated that focal length. The 58mm focal length for Pentax barely made it into the M42 era! You could debate the pros and cons of bringing out a bargain-basement D-FA 50/1.7 and then pairing that with a super-D-FA* 58/1.4 with Takumar-like external trim, picking up the nostalgia freaks along with the professional portrait shooters (especially those still shooting on crop), but we have the D-FA*50/1.4 on the way now and what's done is done.

On the other hand, there can't be that many Takumar 58's still running around in good condition, and if someone like Lomo acquired the rights to remanufacture it, I'd give it strong consideration. I suspect, though, that prices on those old 58/2.4 lenses are still lower on e-bay than what a new-build 58/2.4 Lomo Tak would cost through kickstarter... and while that's the case, nobody's going to give it a go.

warning Math involved

the question at hand, why there is nothing between 50mm and 85 mm, for cropped sensors is easily explained by a little math.

angle of view = 2 x arctan [ sensor width / (2 x Focal length)] in radians, or multiply by 180 / PI to get the angle in degrees.

now if you look at the result for a cropped sensor. the horizontal field of view vs focal length is shown below

FL ----- FOV

10mm 100 degrees
15mm 77 degrees
20mm 62 degrees
24mm 53 degrees
28mm 46 degrees
35mm 39 degrees
50mm 27 degrees
85mm 16 degrees
105mm 13 degrees
135mm 10 degrees

the simple answer is there is no need for it.

unless you are looking for exact and tight cropping you can zoom with your feet. or use a shorter focal length (slightly), and crop later, if retention of perspective is important.

Maybe I was lucky, but I posted a thread in the wanted section and within a few days I had one in the mail. While its true they are harder to find in the K mount, you can always get a Leitax adapter. I'm not sure what your budget is, but know that since the lens is rare in K mount, it will come at a premium price. The price I paid for mine came out to be slightly less than me buying a used F mount and then paying someone to convert it for me(I'm not comfortable doing that with a lens that a value so much), plus I got the hood in the sale as well. For some, maybe I over payed, but it was worth it for me since I have wanted this lens since I jumped back in photography. So just make a post in the Wanted section and keep hope alive. Keep checking ebay as well because they do pop up every now and then.

FWIW, I don't believe I have ever seen a 60mm prime in any mount for 24x36mm or APS-C.
Canon makes one:

There are some 105mm and 150mm lenses as well. But very rare.

And There should be plenty of 58mm + 55mm lenses for K-Mount, which offers very similar FoV to 60mm.
In SMC Pentax (K) there is 50x3, 55, 85, 100 Macro (and Bellows), 105, 120, 135, 150, 200 . . . .

In SMC Pentax-M, 50x4, 85, 100, 120, 135, 150, 200 . . . .

Not so rare that they're impossible, just takes a few weeks of eBay.
