I bet Greg isn't, in any offhand way. But when you have built a kit of lenses that just deliver the goods and which you like for their very character, for the way they perform and render, in their intended areas of use, you may insist on a compelling reason for replacing them with something different. Deep familiarity with one's tools also has the benefit that you can anticipate the results you're likely to get in various situations, and nail the shot when the moment arrives.
Why would I, say, want to replace my green-ring DA35 Limited Macro with its successor, the HD version? I would gain a red ring instead of a green one, get slightly better coatings, a tad better bokeh, but would lose the smc version's impressive starbursts. In other words, while the HD DA35 Macro is gem of a lens in its own right, coming from the smc DA35 Macro, its improvements are basically negligible. I do have an eye on the DFA100 Macro WR, though, because it would give me more macro working distance, more lens compression, could double as a portrait telephoto, is more forgiving in rain, etc. (Even if I picked up a DFA100 Macro WR, I would still keep my smc DA35 Macro, no doubt.)
