If the Tamron SP 60-300mm (23A) has a P-KA adapter you have a good long lens with a sort of macro capability. I rate it as slightly better than my budget Sigma 70-300mm and 100-300mm zooms and my budget Tamron 70-300mm.
I have been slowly adding some budget manual lenses to the database. You might like to add some of your oddities, like the Sun Hi-tele zoom.

K-S1?

I'm surprised there is a lack of Helios -44 primes, a must have as they can be found very cheap and can provide bokeh fun.

The F35/80 is OK...as is 18/55.....60/300 is nice. I've copies of those.

There no review of the AF tamron 70/210 so it'd be good to see what it can do,someone may stumble across one.

Sun Review

Yeah, I have a P-KA adapter with the 60-200mm macro zoom. It's more versatile than the Takumar, and is currently my favorite zoom lens, and my favorite macro lens.

I have yet to do enough with that AF Tamron... the autofocus seems to require strong light, so it only really works outside.

Probably my favourite zoom lens too.
I should have looked for the review of your Sun lens.

I have a few lenses, some a bit obscure.

Does anything about the Zeiss lenses really stand out, or is it brand more than anything?

Not unimpressed with the Zeiss lenses I have, F2.8 50mm lenses were and are cheap I suppose. Some of their better lenses are close to being objects of worship with some photographers.
The Carl Zeiss Jena lens I had and did think was good was the 135mm F3.5 Sonnar, quite sharp and probably as good if not better than my Super Tak 135mm F3.5. However I have other 135mm lenses as sharp and a Pentacon 135mm with F2.8 that provides nice bokeh so I sold my two and did not lose any money.

If you are still looking for lenses, on a budget, Rikenon 50mms are good and sharp, some Petri prime lenses are good, I like my 135mm, actually as you already know there is a wealth of pleasure in old lenses just waiting to be acquired. I keep trying for a Helios 135mm but no luck so far. When I see something new, I check the reviews and hope I can get it without my wife finding out, she keeps telling me to get rid of a lot of what I have and free up some space.

Well, what good are fugus-infested lenses? (Speaking of things to get rid of :P)

As and when I get the time and courage, I might just have a go at dismantling them and cleaning the glass.

So, what under-rated gems/ overrated junk do I have, or what low-price oddities have I missed?

How do you like that Sun 85-210mm?

I recently got an m42 Sun f/2.5 28mm. I wanted to get a cheap 28 to add to my little kit of m42 primes, and this one, from what little I could find out, was one that had some character. My first tests, using it on dslr showed it a bit hit-or-miss when shooting it wide open, but at f/4 it is quite amazing, and dependable. I'm shooting it on a film body now. I really knew nothing about Sun lenses until I started reading up on that one before buying it.
