DA 55-300 Max Aperture changes and focal lengths

I've seen a list of max aperture increases and corresponding focal lengths for this lens, but can't find it. In other words, what is the max f-stop at 135mm, at 200mm, etc?

Anyone know where to find this? Or anyone 55-300 owners want to check it out? Thanks!

Todd

Really?

Nobody out there can help me with this?

All I want to know is at what focal length the max aperture goes to 4.5, to 5.x, to 5.8. Anybody with a 55-300 care to chime in? Please?

i asked this question and someone answered it a long time back. i was trying to find it today but couldn't. you'll have to dig through the old 55-300 threads (there are quite a few)

I just got my copy of Popular Photography and they sure liked the DA 55-300 The said
" it Tested Very Strong, with Sharpness & Contrast in the Execellent Range, even out to 300mm. Maximum Magnification is a satisfying 1:3.3 and Distortion was extremely well controlled, earning our lowert rating (Imperceptible) at 55mm."

Imperceptible = Impossible or difficult to perceive by the mind or senses

Yes, saw that review. Was waiting for Tamron 70-200 (and saving money), but I think I'll be going for the 55-300 instead (especially with popphoto's sqf results). I'd like the speed, but I think I'll trade speed for the lighter weight and longer reach. Most of my shooting is with DA 12-24 and Tamron 28-75 anyway.

looking at the speeds, they are pretty decent, to be aroudn f4.5 up to around 200mm pretty good for the price. after finding that post, my finger slipped and i should have one coming soon. i'll run a test at around 77mm against the FA77 for fun

I got mine today from the FedEx man but it's a dismal day here, If it clears up before the hurricane gets here next week I'll take a few shots.
Anything special you want shots of?

Traveling with the DA 55~300

Well I've been culling more lenses to counter an LBA slip I made yesterday (K50/1.2) while simultaneously gathering my travel kit for a week-long trip to Virginia and D.C.

I SHOULD just take an F3x bag and the DA55~300, FA 50/1.4 and FA35/2.

But I probably won't .
