I own the Tamron 70-200 2.8 and use it for indoor sports photography. I shoot on a K3 with a monopod. Hands down it is my favorite lens. At times I find myself wishing for more reach. I can zoom and crop in post processing, but can only go so far before IQ starts to suffer. How does the Sigma 100-300 compare in AF speed and sharpness while wide open between 200-300mm? Any softening? Both lenses get very good ratings in the lens database (9.27 for Tamron and 9.62 for Sigma). I'm struggling with whether it's worth the cash for the extra 100mm reach. I can't sacrifice AF speed or accuracy for the extra 100mm.
Thanks for any insight!
