Mine was minus 6 and since that adjustment my copy has been absolutely stunning, not just a good copy but a great copy. Why send back a good copy because of a simple fine adjustment, the replacement could be far worse?

If you are uncomfortable for whatever reasons, in your case multiple, why not return it and ask for another copy? That lens is not a cheap item. That is not to say you won't need an adjustment on the replacement, but at least you'll be in a position of realizing what to expect in this product.

Probably live with it.

You might be concerned that +8 on your camera might go beyond the +10 limit when you upgrade cameras later. If possible test the lens on a 2nd camera now. If you don't have access to a 2nd camera you don't know whether your lens or your camera is triggering the need for adjustment.

I was able to recheck the focus and it appears to be closer to +6, so I think I can live with that. Here is the rotational play I'm more concerned with. Not sure if this is normal with this lens.

I pulled the trigger on an exchange. Having no brick and mortar stores in the area, it kinda stinks that, with mail order, I can't compare this lens against others, hence this thread reaching out for opinions (to those that already have this lens) so I know what to expect. Hopefully the next copy is good.

Has anyone had some rotational play when the DFA 70-200 is connected to the camera? I have a slight amount and my concern is the seal is also rotating and will cause some wear with it moving.
Both the new tele zooms have more play than other lenses before. I have had serious problems with K-1 DFA*70-200 and DFA150-450 combos.
I now have a new K-1, a new 150-450 and, as we speak, a new 70-200 on it's way from Ricoh. They have swapped all of it... Well, the 70-200 they are swapping due to decentered lens element, not the bayonett even if it has been a problem with the older K-1...

Here is my thread on the problem I had.

Yeah, all my lenses are solid on my K-1 except for that DFA 70-700. I turn the zoom ring and the whole lens turns with it. I didn't pay all that $ for loosey–goosey.

Does it loose contact with the camera like in the video or is it just a little loose?

EDIT: Now I see your video. That looks like on mine. Not to much as long as the contact is not broken.

It has noticeable play, but the contacts do not break.

My D FA 70-200 is rock solid on all my camera bodies including my K1. My other D FA's ,150-450 and 24-70,are just as solid with no play at all.

Got my new DFA70-200 today, and it is much better!! Happy now. This is an amazing lens. B&H packaging could be better though. This is the second time the lens box had no padding on one or more sides between the lens box and the outer shipping box.

Good to hear - it's easy to ignore minor niggles, but when you know something isn't quite right you'll never really be happy - so I'm glad yo got a result
