smc 135mm M f:2.8

Does anyone know for sure if the smc 135mm f:2.8 exists?
I am told one is for sale but the picture doesn't prove it and
the person who answered my email, while sure of the markings,
is not an expert ( or even experienced ) as far as I know.
I have searched the lens database and googled my butt of and
can't find anything on it.
It is being sold as part of a camera/lens kit with a K1000 and
an M 50mm f:2.0, ser. # 842885.

thanks, I know most of you know more about Pentax history than I do.

Link to the listing or pictures might help. f/2.8? I'm familiar with f/2.5 and f/3.5........... There is a k-mount Takumar 135mm f/2.8 but it would not be SMC.

In Pentax "Lens and Accessories" from 1980, on Page 17:
SMC Pentax 135mm f/2.5
SMC Pentax -M 135mm f/3.5

I have the -M, it has a slide out hood

You would be surprised how many listings for lenses I have seen described as "58mm UV/Haze Zoom Lens for Pentax"

sorry, no I wouldn't...I've emailed sellers, auction sites, etc. and those same places still i.d. the filter
instead of the lens.
I just shake my head and move on.

There was an A135/2.8, but no "M" version.

If I had to guess, I would think it's the Takumar(Bayonet) without smc.

And those filters work even better with 'Petnax' lenses 😛

thanks everyone...I'm thinking it's probably a J.C.Penny...
--the hard case has a tag in it that seems to say J.C.Penny
--none of you, or anyone else, says there may have been an M, 135mm f/2.8,
--looking it up in the third party database shows a couple of owners saying it
came in a k1000 kit with an M 50 f2.0, as this does.

kinda case closed, I think...thanks again

Actually the non MC Takumar 135 f2.5 Ks, made in Japan and Hong Kong, then VietNam were haze prone, unlike the SMC K.

FYI the K SMC 135 f2.5 takes a 58mm filter. The 135 f3.5 M SMC series takes a 49 mm filter, the 135 f2.8 A series SMC takes a 52mm filter, as do the 135 mm f2.8 F and FA SMCs take a 52mm filter. The K, M, and A have different optical formulas from one another. The F and FA 135mm f2.8 lenses have identical optical formulas, as differ too from the others.

135s generally are well established primes, some better than others. Sears/richo, tokina, tamron werevery good. No clue on Penny's, though I can recall when they sold film slrs, back in the day.
