A plastic bag. Sophisticated huh?
I have fashioned, out of flooring vinyl, and hood that fits over my lens's hood. Because of the crop factor the hood I made can extend past the original hood by quite a way, this keeps the rain and lights off the lens better than the original. I've taped a plastic bag to the new hood, making a hole in it (at the "bottom" end) at the lens end just big enough for the hood, with the existing bag opening at the camera end. Another hole is made in the bottom of the bag to allow my monopod to connect and my hand to reach up and use the zoom ring.
Because the K20D is weatherproofed it doesn't matter too much if it bets wet, this means I still have full access to the controls on the camera.
