Sigma 50-150mm 2.8 II APO HSM problem.

Hello,
Anyone here has tried Sigma 50-150mm 1:2.8 II APO HSM on later generation of Pentax DSLR, such as Pentax KS2, Pentax K70 or Pentax KP ?
My lens doesn't work on Pentax K70.
Thanks, Togog

Totally my camera stop working. It not only the AF but also in Manual focus mode was the camera can not run.
Can not take picture and can not turn off the camera. I have to take out the battery in order to turn it off.
I rechecked with my Pentax K50 everything goes normal.

Just tried mine again on KS2, no problems at all. Do other lenses work OK? Is it maybe something to do with HSM? do you have other HSM lenses you can try?

Sorry but I have no other ideas.

I checked it with other HSM Sigma lenses I have like Sigma 50-500, Sigma 8-16, Sigma 17-50, Sigma 18-250 all working normally.
Though Sigma 50-150 is the only lens of my favorite and very often used.
I have contacted Sigma's representative via email but have not received their response.

I am following this thread with interest as the 50-150mm is one of my favorite lenses, and one of the reasons I have stuck with my DSLR. I plan to upgrade to the K-70 or KP in the future, so I want to see how this turns out.

If all else fails, you can send your lens and camera Sigma headquarters in New York. Their service center there is excellent and works very quickly.

Hello,

Is your lens work both in shooting via viewfinder and live view mode? Have you tried in movie mode ?
On my owned camera, this lens only work with K-50, KX and K200D, but not in live view (taking picture via viewfinder).
In live view mode, can not nail to the target focus point. It become wildly moving forward / backward.

I believe that mine also did not work in Live View at first, but Sigma had a firmware update to fix the problem. This was years ago.

Received respose from Sigma , but unfortunately the news is less encouraging......

Good morning.

We feedback to Japan HQ. We already received their reply.

For your lens this model doesn't support K70 and K50 camera functions.

The reason this model was discontinued in 2010 before those cameras were released (K70 2016, K50 2013) to the market.

We were sorry for the inconvenience cause.

Have a nice day!

I will consider back to acquire Pentax DA 50-135 which prone by SDM failure but no choice.
