When buying a new lens...

Hi Guys, I've run into a predicament and I hope you can help me.

I just bought a new 40mm DA Ltd and I'm extremely excited about it. However, upon close examination, there appears to be quite a few small specks of dust on the inside of the lens. This I'm not too concern with, but is it normal??

The thing that concerns me more, is there appears to be a larger mark or a BIG piece of dust as well. As far as I know, it does not appear to affect the lens. Should I take it back?

I bought other lens before, and never had this problem. Just wanted to know if it's common and what would you do?

If you could go here: common problem? on Flickr - Photo Sharing!
and hover your mouse above the pic, I indicated the spot with a note.

Thanks in advance for your help.

A new lens out of the box should not have speck of anything on the glass.
It's a good lens, but do get the one you have exchanged for a clean one.

Return it! Not acceptable.
I made the mistake of giving a Sigma with an obvious flaw " a go"....to my loss down the track when the flaw became intolerable.
Cheers.

That is acceptable on a lens that has given many years of faithful service. It is not acceptable for a lens new out of the box to look that way.
