Missing points are:
Pro for the FA* 300mm 2.8: - AF-Limiter (very helpful for outdoors/wildlife)
- Fast AF-Speed (one of the fastest Pentax AF-Lenses)
- fast 2.8 aperture (great bokeh, narrow shallow of depth)
- In-Camera Correction for Distortion, Peripheral Illumin., Lateral Chromatic Aberration, Diffraction
Con for the FA* 300mm 2.8: - no weather sealing
- no QuickShift
- 2.495kg weight (around 1.4kg more than the DA* 300)
- only available used
Pro for the DA* 300mm 4.0: - WR (dust-resistant and drip-proof construction)
- Still build and available to order
- just 1.040g weight
- In-Camera Correction for Distortion, Peripheral Illumin., Lateral Chromatic Aberration, Diffraction
Con for the DA* 300m 4.0: - slower f4 aperture
- slower SDM AF
- no AF-Limiter (AF hunting is common, not good for wildlife)
- no aperture ring

Pentax has the FA 1.7x AF converter as well as the HD DA 1.4x AW converter.
Current line up includes two super telephoto lenses:
- HD DA 560mm 5.6 DC AW
- HD D FA 150-450mm 4-5.6 DC AW
