Rokinon Confusion 135mm lens

I recently mentioned I had this lens for sale and a gentleman thought it was the modern expensive variety.
Thought I would ask does anyone know where this lens was made and by what company ?
For a vintage lens it performs quite well. Thanks.

Weren't these made by Samyang in Korea, same as today?

I thought they had always been Korean, and this one looks to be vintage late 1980s to my eyes.

And didn't the Rokinon Confusion series of lenses use fuzzy logic in their focusing algorithms? 😜

. . . Made In Japan. . .

My older Rokinon 135mm was also made in Japan.

Here's a mflenses.com thread with some Rokinon information and speculation:

This is not really a surprise. 135mm seems to be somewhat the "sweet spot" of lens design. There are barely any bad performing 135s around.

Anyway, regarding the question if Rokinon necessarily means "Samyang"/Korea, the whole thing is not so straight forward, see e.g. Rokina vs. Rokinon - Past vs. Present
