"Best" Budget Lenses for Pentax

We don't get a lot of coverage in photo blogs, etc... but when we do, it's going to be partially wrong:

Flagrantly incorrect

I don't know this blog at all, but it's a bad sign when you're only a few paragraphs in and you're wondering if the errors are more abundant that the facts. Maybe I should volunteer to proofread for this blog since it appears there is no proofreading at all now. However, it is good to see something on Pentax even if it is not 100% correct.

I would not rely on an article that says "If you have a Pentax kit or you are thinking about picking one up – maybe for that K-1 DSLR – then you are likely wondering about the best budget options for Pentax right now" at the start and then says "(not that Pentax makes a full frame at the time of writing this posting)". The following discussion is all about the APS-C. Not very good. And then there is this: "One of the tough things with the Sony system, especially on the full frame side of things is that native budget options have been slim pickins’. that said, there are still some great budget E mount options that you all should be considering. (As well we will include some great Sony A mount lenses that can be adapted and will work well)".

It seems to be a badly edited "copy and paste" of another article. And the lenses are mostly at the smaller focal ranges.

The guy just doesn't know what he's talking about.

Sadly, that's true these days not just of bloggers, but people paid to be reviewers.

The Tokina lenses listed that aren't available for Pentax mount really take the cake.

Moral of the story - don't write an article on lenses for a system unless you regularly shoot with that system with some degree of enthusiasm, or are willing to have your article savaged half to death proofed by someone who does.

Wonderful sentiment.

Like you do in academia, only review if you're an expert in that area.

That rules out almost all employees of these webzines/sites/YouTube channels of course.

Darn I was looking forward the tokina versions.
I wish they would pick a good budget zoom for standard lengths.

Any web page with the title 'The best X for Y' or similar has its primary purpose as clickbait for advertising revenue. The same goes for anything that includes the words 'you wouldn't believe' or 'one easy trick' or suggesting that a professional would hate them for revealing something.

By even clicking to see how wrong, stupid, or useless the page is, you're feeding the trolls and then, like rats, they multiply until one day soon nobody will be able to believe anything they read unless they already know it to be true. Then the world will end...or something like that.

"Webmasters will hate me for revealing this one little trick to help weed out the trolls and get the best content for the web right now!!!" - just don't click...and certainly don't share!
