I'ts even cheaper than a used FA* 250-600mm 5.6 and close to the channel.
Language wouldn't be a real problem in time of internet, translate and google.

That is expensive. I'll gladly sell mine for less. Unfortunately it is out of adjustment and need to be placed in an optical bench - in Japan!

Average price for the FA* 600mm 4.0 in 19 sellings between 2011 and 2017 is 5293€. So for a excellent copy without any signs of use and complete contents of package 5.400€ is just average.

The DA 560mm does have a discount of 15% (PENTAXLENS15) just today at srsmicrosystemmc.co.uk, so it's just 3152.

Maybe. But it is still too expensive IMHO.

Absolutely expensive considerung focal length/aperture of used CaNikon lenses.
In relation to the used pentax market it's not expensive.
More people should have buyed it in the 90s instead of going yellow or red

They should. The going price for the lens is more than I paid for it brand new almost 20 years ago. Expensive Pentax lenses keep their value more than almost any other, but still people are complaining about the new price (case in point; I bought the FA* 200/4 Macro the day it was released for about $1200. It has been known to sell for up to $4000 used!)

Bit surprised that they're offering 15% off something they haven't got and haven't had for weeks and can't say when it will arrive.
Rather takes the shine off the deal.

Perhaps their intention is to generate demand so they can place an (additional?) order for several of them. Either way, if it's a lens you want enough to wait for, it's an attractive price. The benefit to you is that you can lock that price in by ordering now. In the unlikely event that the price drops again between now and the lens being in stock, you can cancel and re-order. And if you decide you don't want to wait any longer and buy elsewhere (either the same or a different product), you can cancel the order. As I see it, there's no real downside except for the waiting time

Good news is that the 560 may not be available anymore.

Let's make this a rumor and assume that Pentax is working on a new telephoto solution for FF. Shorter in lnegth than the 560 hopefully. f/5.6 will sell for Pentax f/4 for anything longer than 500mm will not sell in Pentax land - maybe to the 5 people replying to this post, but not in countable numbers.

Some irony or do you mean what you say?

I don't believe in creating rumors.
But more and good solutions for Pentax FF Supertele are necessary.
Like 400mm f4, 500mm f5.6 and D FA* 300mm ED DC AW.

Haha, when you try to add this rumor in Pentax Rumor Forum you will be asked for official confirmation by Pentax including official pre-release pictures.

The english pound lost quite some value recently, so I can see why nobody wants to ship "overstocked lenses" to England if there are any. With the DA560 covering only APS-C officially, we can only hope for low stock and a FF follow up. 4/400 with 1.4x and 2x converter would be nice, 5.6/560 in normal length would be great, 2.8/300 would look nice, but not really help anyone. Add a golden ring and matching optics. The green ring did not convince many people for the price originally asked.

They are out of stock worldwide, so no connection to GBP.

Sold out! Good for Pentax, time for redesign. You should also read the fine print below the three teles, not completely FF.

I am happy to pay the price for this lens, but not for the extended version that feels 20cm too long. Actually it is 14cm longer than my 5.6/600. And close focus of 560mm is not what you want from such a lens.

DA 560mm F5.6 - is it a Full-frame lens?

Where did you hear the speculation about the DA 560mm sold out? And where you guess it is sold out?
Pentax HD PENTAX-DA 560mm F5.6 ED AW Lens

The DA 560mm is as fully FF like the Canon/Sigma 500mm f4. No difference regarding the vignetting (-EV1,5).
