Low cost macro

I wanted to try some shooting macro but the macro lenses are quite expensive. So I got a Pentax A 50mm 1:1.7 and a 2x TC on ebay, total cost about $60. This way I also got a beautiful 50 mm prime lens.

It actually turned out to work quite well for macro shooting. Here is the result of an initial attempt, chasing after a bumble bee in the garden. I used the pop up flash, which is not optimal for close ups, but it still turned out decently I think.

Best regards,
Haakan

Looks great! Good work!

Congratulations on the good price as well. When I bought my A 50/1.7 on the bay, they were going for about $100 USD with no TC thrown in.

Steve

(Always in favor of the cheap macro...TC, extension tubes, bellows, bring it on!)

Thank you

Thank you,
based on your statement regarding your lens collection, it looks as I am heading down the same path. The possibility to pick up great old lenses at a decent price is one really a nice benefit with Pentax.

Best regards,
Haakan
