my pimpin FA43

i have never seen this, so i will share

through a funny set of circumstance i ended up putting an old Takumar lenshood from a 135mm lens (filter size 49mm for the win!) on to my FA43

no vignetting, and it looks bitching.

surprised no vignetting! but the giant hood takes away from the small size advantage.
have you tried capping that hood?

no i dont have a cap (yet... heheh) that can fit over it

but tis hardly necessary, nothing is getting to the glass element.

and while it takes away from the size, it does give it that sleek military look (to me)

almost like putting on a silencer.

That lens is something I had not used much anymore. Post some shots to remind me how good it is!

You showed the weakness of this lens and I tend to prefer this lens for a cropped landscape shots. Cool colour temperature with aperture between f2.2 to 4.5

I actually like that bokeh! Plus, the texture of the wall didn't really help the situation.

You can make almost any lens look bad if you don't keep an eye on the entire frame and shoot with it correctly. We've seen crappy images from the mighty VL125 posted.

That is a cool hood and I have one for that lens as well as the FA50mm. Works perfectly if you can find a 60mm lens cap (odd size) it will fit the hood. 58mm is just a touch too small. But the hood has 'ribs'inside that a decent cap can hold on to.

I use the bokeh characteristics, as I don't see lens flaws as flaws but rather as features for use

f/1.9 .6sec asa800 handheld

f/2.8 1/125th asa200

and for fun, a bar self portrait (method acting involved)

as though it matters: f/2.4 1/30sec asa800
