How is the Pentax-M SMC 100/2.8?

Looking at adding a few more primes, and the 100/2.8 seems to be available at reasonable prices. Sounds like a nice lens -- anybody here NOT like it?

I'll be able to give you my opinion soon, as mine should be arriving any day now. It will joining my M28/2.8, A50/1.7, M135/3.5, and M200/4. I'm a little nervous because at a little over $100, the M100/2.8 was by far the most expensive of the bunch :-). But I've read the reviews here and at stans-photography.com, checked the stats at bdimitrov.de, and seen sample images posted by jsherman and others that assure me I'm going to like it a lot.

Yes, it's a very, very good M, my 2nd favorite. I paid $135 (memory) shipped for
an excellent copy, and IMO it's worth that & maybe more.

Peruse the M-Club thread for examples.

That is a really good one. Extremely sharp, and has enough resolution for my K20D. Maybe my copy is excepetional, but at that compact size and that quality, I would not part with it easily.

I got a like new copy some days ago and had no chance to use it thoroughly yet. But the first test shots i took after opening the package are more than promising. On crop it mutates to an uncommon ~150mm kind of view. I will have to make myself familiar with it but i think it is worth the effort.

[edit]
What i immediately liked about this lens is its extreme compactness for its angle of view.
