there exists a 15mm super tak, what are the chances of actually finding one?

How long will a snowball last in the Iraqi desert? If you really want a Pentax 15mm, you will have better luck by far with a K-Mount, better still with a KA mount.
I've once saw the Takumar on an eBay auction, and it went for a ridiculous sum, I have sometimes seen the K version, and more often (though not often at all) the A version. The lens seems to attract a premium price.

Don't forget the 24, 150 and 200. Actually there is also a Super Tak 300. I just picked up a beautiful 200 last week.

QUESTION: Is there actually a Super Tak 15? My source doesn't show one. Only the Super-Multi-Coated version.

Though you'd lose 3mm, I hear Zeiss are releasing an 18/3.5 in K. It'll have A contacts, a new warranty, equal or better build quality to the original Pentax lens and probably better optics as well (the 15mm was only rated as good in several resources I'd seen in regards to it). Street price will be similar.

seriously tho it would only make sense on a film camera though

plus like i said i wanted a M42 "set", considering the cost of the other takumars this is a feasible crusade, with the exception of the 15mm

in reality i dont need a 15mm since i have my sigma 10-20 ~~

but its always like that, you get that one piece in a set thats worth more than the rest of them combined.

also keep in mind that screw lenses work perfectly fine in Av mode, the only downside is that your viewfinder gets dark once you start stepping down.

"Super Takumar" 15mm?........didn't think they made them in that "vintage"?......I thought they became available around 1975 post Super Takumar....in the "Super Multi Coated Takumar" "era".........and I'd love one......preferably aspheric, & it'd have to be virtually mint, with original Pentax case & caps.......virtually impossible I suppose....but ya gotta live in hope!
Cheers, Pickles.

I have K mount and M42 prime kits, and am also looking for sub 24mm primes to go with these kits.

The problem is price.

So far, my M42 Kit has cost e about $800, and for that I have the following

24mmF2.5 (Tamron)
28mmF2.5 (Vivitar)
35mmF2 (SMC Tak)
50mm F1.4 (8 element Syuper tak)
58mmF2 (Helios)
85mmF1.9(Super Tak)
105mmF2.8(Vernon Edonar preset)
135mmF2.8 (Telelentar)
135mmF3.5 (SMC Tak)
200mmF3.5 (Tak Preset)
50mmF4 (SMC Macro Tak)
plus several TCs a set of extension tubes and a 15-30mm focusing helix.

What I am having difficulty with is accepting that to get 2 lenses to fill out the bottom, I am going to pay 2-3 times the value of the remainder of my kit to date.

WHile I have perhaps a little more in my K mount kit, and some of it was bought new over time as I shoot film, I have the same problem (below 24mm) and also I have no 35mm or 200mm at this point. But I have a 300F4 and 400F5.6

For my K mount, kit, the new samyang 14mm F2.8 certainly has my attention.

Maybe I am just cheap, but I cant see paying the price of the old tak primes below 24mm.

Yep, I've seen that one, but it's not referred to as a "Super Takumar".....it's a "SMC Takumar"....there is a difference.....the Super Takumars were the "preceeding series" is the best way I can describe it.
There's obviously more expert people on here, who can explain better than me.
Cheers, Pickles.
