I just had my September 1st buying ban lifted a week early. So what do I do? Immediately head to Marketplace to do some "browsing". 10 minutes later I struck a deal on a Sigma 24-60/F2.8 zoom. I've been coveting that lens for a while. I was in need of some fast, constant aperture zooms and it was at the top of my list. Tthe price was right so I grabbed it. My next move was going to entail selling off some stuff, adding some $$$, and picking up a DA*50-135.
That was until this happened:
Pentax smc P-DA 14mm f/2.8 Lens - eBay (item 190246757449 end time Aug-25-08 09:05:31 PDT)
I was looking at this lens because I'm about to sell my Sigma 17-70 and knew I would miss the wide end. The Sigma 10-20 and DA12-24 cost more than I wanted to spend, so I did a quick search for pricing on the DA14 and found this. I thought the price was pretty good, so 10 mins later I picked this up too. This was totally unplanned. I'm still in shock over the fact that I bought a lens that wasn't even on my roadmap within 30 mins of "thinking" about it.
I normally have well thought out purchases, where the LBA is present but still under control. At this point I'm starting to think that it may have reached an acute stage. Of course, it could also be LBA withdrawal from my ban.
Either way, this LBA thing has absolutely no conscience.....
