You could look at the Peak Design pro plate, it's the right size, well made, thin and can accept many attachment systems.

Otherwise, just get a cheap Arca-Swiss plate off eBay. There are many available for a fe wbucks. A plate machined from aluminum will be of the same quality whoever makes it. As much as I understand paying good money for a good tripod head, for a plate there's really no gain in spending a lot.

While I agree to an extent with your sentiments, it would be the quality of the bolt that holds the camera or lens to the plate that would be my concern.

Depending on the length spec of your tripod collar foot, the QR plates are available in different sizes. I use one that is a longer than normal version to accommodate the foot of my Sigma 150-500 DG OS lens. Mine looks something similar to this one that is available on Amazon (shortcut below). It has a D-Ring screw on the bottom so that you can screw/unscrew the mount quite easily, and it has pads on the surface of it.

I'm not sure if he's still around on the forum, but I had the plate for my 60-250 made by Fanotec (same guy that makes the nodal ninja pano head):

here's his website. He doesn't have anything pentad-specific but I'm sure it's an option.

The real bummer is that Pentax makes a foot for the lens and that it almost fits Arca style systems. What a stupid design - don't forget, Wimberley, RRS, and co will not make replacement foots for a Pentax lens. Pentax is missing out here. Actually the Pentax foot fits some Arca heads, but not in general.

True, they would have machined a lip there and make it Arca-Swiss compatible without compromising general functionality.

A 8cm long plate already fits the food of the D FA* 70-200.
Usual brands, advantages and disadvantages are listed here:
