DA 15 is the gold standard, but a lot of other lenses have nice ones too.

This is the DFA 15-30:

The biggest problem generally is flare. You can have really nice starbursts, but if a lens flares badly it really spoils the effect. Most of the DA limiteds are really flare resistant which helps a whole lot.

There's no way I could pay that price!

Looks like so far, the Pentax 15, and the Sigma 28 are contenders for my wish list!

I fully agree on the DA15. But the FA31 can do quite well, too:

FA31 at f/11

FA31 at f/11

...while the A20/2.8 is something very different.

A20 at f/11

DA 21 Limited (which is tiny compared to the Sigma 28mm)

Definitely a strong contender. Not far behind the 15, I'd say. And almost as flare resistant. Also a focal length more suited for general use than the 15 - and available for less. Tiny as well. All in all quite a package

I find the DA21 to perform almost identical to the DA 15 in star rendering.

Here's the DA15 with 1.4xTC. It was an accident when my lens release button fell off and I could not remove the tele converter for several days. However, the giant sun star was worth it.

Which 1.4x? The HD DA is not safe to use on the DA 15. I've done it myself before I noticed the warnings from Pentax.

I expect the upcomming11-18 to have crazy starbrust effect too. As for now, here are my 3 choises

FA50 macro has 2 characteristic, first image is a typical start at f11.

FA50 macro crazy version at f11 [the left side is a mirrored of the right.]This happen with it is a glowing / dim light,

DA21 at f9

and Of Course the DA15 at f16

Well, maybe, but it doesn't look too convincing with 7 points...?

I'd never thought about it with the FA31 until a trip into the woods back in September....

...I was pleasantly surprised... and then the DA*60-250 was an even bigger surprise...
