Not so sure about that. It is not a good idea to extrapolate too much from the opinions expressed on this forum. Very few people like to pay big prices and many will complain, but if they want something they buy it anyway. And you could say the same about Nikon or Canon users. Most (the vast majority) do not buy expensive gear, but some do.
I have a K-1, the DFA 24-70 and the DFA 150-450. Not an inexpensive purchase. I also own and use, and perhaps talk far more about a whole shelf full of old Takumars and film era K-mount lenses. They are interesting and fun. But they do not stop me from buying a new expensive lens if I need / want it.
