To be honest, I thought the phrasing of the question opened up that possibility
Sure. I just meant if you plan to get the lens vote YES. Eventually is fine, I know many people would need to budget for it. I just want to eliminate all the folks who have not decided yet. And if you need to wait and see pricing, reviews and so on then you have not decided so say NO.

And come on, it is totally fine if you say YES because it is a lens you would like to own but when it comes out it's a dog and you don't. It's not like anyone is going to hold you to this.

Nah. I have a k-30 and find 50mm a bit long, preferring my Pentax 35mm or vintage Miranda 24mm. I already have a manual Pentax 50mm f2 which sees little use and would rather spend my money on a 10-17mm or a samyang 8mm and lots of cake.

Unlikely since I have M 50 f1.7 and FA 50 f1.7 and I am happy with both of them. I have K-3 and K-5 and no plans to go FF. I am saving my $ for the DA*11-18 when that comes out.

No. Unless I change everything and convert 100% to modern star lenses. But the entire point of K-1 for me is manual focus FF lenses. Aside from the 24-70 and FA Lim’s, KP is my AF platform (and I don’t plan to buy the K-3 replacement either).

I'm a no. I already have a fair sized collection of 50 and 55mm lenses and they see little use. Maybe down the road someday and IF (and it's a big if) I buy a FF body, I might consider it.

Slightly depressing to see how little people seem to want this lens.

To be contrarian , so far 20% of respondents want it. How many premium lenses are owned by 20% of the pentax user base? It doesn't sound terrible to me. Not great, but not terrible.

The FA43, A50/1.2 and DA*55 fill my "fast normal" needs nicely for now, so I have no plans to jump in at the deep end.

Whether I change my mind will depend on price, size, and reports from early adopters.

Having the APS-C K-3 and a DA 50mm, I'd probably lean towards the DA* 55 as a faster and weather sealed upgrade over the D-FA* 50. The 50mm standard focal length is a crowded field. It'd have to be leaps and bounds better than the DA* 55mm f1.4, which is also apparently full frame compatible, to justify the size and cAD$1000+ price tag for me.

I will get one.

I expect it to be excellent glass with modern features and will sell my 55 and 43. I hope the new 50 has it all. I don't like a lot of lenses lying around.
