So do you think it affects the image in any way?
It's a tough choice, but I think I prefer the first one.

Any shots at other focal lengths maybe?

lol...same thing Nikon FF users have seen. Crop heavily on FF is the only thing you can do...

nikon ff users can dx crop automatically

vignetting goes away at around 14mm

Yep, but you know people want to see how far it can go w/o vignetting

Especially since the Tokina 11-18/2.8 works on FF at 16mm....

Thanks for posting, it's good to see and sometimes that vignetting could be useful.
