ok, after all the help you guys offered, i need just a little more. I found the sigma 100-300 for 1042.00$ from amazon. I then found the 50-500 from target ( of all places) for 999$ Is the image of both these lenses equal? if so, i'm going for the bigma. If not, i'll go for the 300.....whatcha all think???

While I haven't used either one of these lenses, one thing to ask yourself is how much tele do you need anyway. Both lenses have good reputations, but if you really need 500mm, then go for the Bigma. If constant aperture is important to you, then go for the 100-300.

if iq and wide open performance is a priority the 100-300 is the way to go
