If you are fortunate enough to find this lens, grab it!

This is handheld, K3, Sigma 300 F4, plus Tamron 1.4XTC

Wow, it plays very nicely with the tele-converter! I can see you're going to get a lot of enjoyment from that lens, Carol

Nice photo, I have a Pentax A 400 that's not to bad to use. I use it on a K5ll and a 1.4 converter, then must use a tripod. You can find on forum or ebay for $500.00 CND if you look around.

Mike, I'm so thrilled with this lens! I hardly ever do any PP, except for cropping, now. Yes, that TC is working extremely well with this lens.

Congratulations on the new lens Carol. It looks like a real beauty. I have been considering replacing my 50-500 with a DA*300 myself. I have the same Tamron 1.4TC to use.

Michael, I sure don't think you could go wrong with that combo!

I'm pretty impressed with that Tamron TC.

I'm going to try to come up with some sort of cover/padding for the bar; . . . Any suggestions?
Almost anything that can accommodate a 1/4"x24 screw can be added to the bar or tripod mount in some fashion. Or try a rolled up sock top and Velcro. Large replacement cooking pot or drawer knobs? The off-set's simply to find a good balance point.

But, for a slip-on solution check the dinnerware section of Wally-mart or search on-line for sleeves that slip on to metal frying pan handles. For a temporary trial just rap a hot-pad around the bar and tape or rubberband it.

Thanks, but I did come up with a solution that works for me, and can be removed quickly to secure to Gimbal.

"I found a padded camera strap that I had. I just cut off the length needed, and secured it on the bottom of the bar with a strip of Velcro wrapped around it. Easy on/off! "

EXIF misidentifies the lens...I didn't own an F* last year? It was shot with the Sigma because that was my only 300mm at that time...This year's will be shot with F*300!

Ron, great shot! I love the lighting, and how you caught him just clearing the barbed wire!

I'm absolutely loving my "new"/your "old" lens!!

Motored through the jump and got 4 midair shots. I like the tension of the coiled legs in this one best. It not only shows movement, but suggests more movement when the legs spring out. Strong depth of field for the wide aperture...

They are amazing animals! I really love that shot of yours! Several were in my backyard again during the night. Hopefully they will return when I can get some more photos!
Tomorrow's supposed to hit 40, so I can get out & get some bird pics without having to shoot thru the window!
