Hi guys. I'm looking into getting the pancakes 21, 40 and 70.

I have a question on how to use filters with them, specificall the 21 and 40. I intend to use a polarizer and maybe ND and ND grads. I read the user manual of the limiteds and understand that you attach them some other way if you want to use the hood.

Could anyone shed some light with his/her experience in using a polarizer with the DA limiteds? I'd sure like to use the hood with the filters.

The 21mm will take 49mm filters, but you won't be able to use the lens hood with the them. You can also install 43mm filters into the lens hood, but you won't be able to adjust them without removing the hood.

The 40mm is similar, but takes 30.5mm filters inside the hood. With the 49mm, you can install the hood over the filter, but I suspect vignetting would become an issue (I haven't tried it).

hmm so i guess i'll just get a 49mm polarizer to simplify, fits them all thanks much guys!
