When shooting a modern Pentax the f/4 is not really much of a factor unless you are going to shoot very low light. Since the images still have that Limited "pixie Dust Look," it really becomes less important. With SR added, it is even less important. Even though I seem to be carrying my primes more often than my 20-40, it is still a great choice when the weather stinks, (often,) and when I don't want to schlep my 3 pound zoom around. They are a pretty good deal if you are looking used, and if you hate it you aren't going to lose much, (if anything,) by reselling it.
