Any Sigma HSM on the way for Pentax?

Hello,

I am looking at some interesting lenses of Sigma.. I see that the lenses for Nikon, Canon and Sigma already have HSM, but not for Pentax and Sony. Some have it.

I think the Sigma AF 180/3.5 EX DG Macro Pentax might be interesting for me to photograph lizards, snakes, insects etc (a wildlife lens for me ).. the 180mm keeps me at a safe distance

Ok I wont use AF all the time, but sometimes I need it.. and a silent lens is better with wildlife.

But will there be HSM soon on this lens? I mean before January..

The 18-50 f2.8 is also interesting but same story..

Sigma already released a HSM version 70-200/2.8 in 4/3rd, Pentax and Sony mount:

This is an HSM only lens, which means AF only works w/ K100Ds, K10D, K200D and K20D.

I'm sure some of their other lenses will follow

OK thanks.. but I hope the 180mm macro will have it soon too, because it would be sad to see they got HSM a few months after buying the lens. I mean the HSM lenses for Nikon, Canon and Sigma have the same price as the non-HSM for Pentax (Pentaxism! )

I will wait until January/February I think..

I spoke with Sigma (NY) last week. The 70-200 and 50-150 HSM PTX will be out this month. There are no announcements or indications of any for PTX HSM for the 180 or BIGMA.............
Grrrrr..............

Yeah! What's up with that??? I was looking at the Sigma 10-20mm and the Pentax (non-HSM) version costs the same as it does for Canon and Nikon bodies... only those lenses get HSM! The non-HSM Pentax one should cost at least $100 less than the others, as far as I'm concerned...

Not really, it's a mater of supply and demand.
Both the Sigma and Canon lenses share the exact same electronics, and I may be wrong but I believe that the Nikon mount use most of them as well. With the exception of the aperture, which is similar to Pentax's.

So they're able to produce more of these lenses, sharing the costs between all those users / buyers.
