SMC 18mm 3.5

I have been after one of these for ages. Finally nabbed one. Can't wait to try it out on the K1. It is in excellent condition and going on the SMC designation (versus smc) it must be 41-43 years old.

Nice! I was in the same boat back in 2016, and was quite excited for the lens. It shows its age in terms of image quality, but really fun to use overall.

Hadn't seen one of these, but I've used the 17/4 fish-eye a few times with great success.

Same as Adam I was waiting for such lens years and finally got mine in 2014 . My SN is slightly newer than yours ( mine is 5339807 ) . Overall i think it´s OK but not a really exciting lens, and very expensive nowadays.

I have been very busy and not had time to give this lens a proper outing. Today i had a window and grabbed the lens and camera to try and showcase it's capabilities. I don't think these are are anything special at all, but i think they do show the unique perspective an ultra wide can deliver on the K1. The lens does have significant distortion at the edges which can also be quite soft. However I am impressed with the centre sharpness at least close up.

Very nice, Peter. I could see how the focal length could be very useful, right between 15mm and 24mm.
