Superzoom for KP with "starburst effect" ?

For the holidays, i'm looking for a lens with 18-200 or longer focal length. The simple reason for this - sometimes i must shoot out of a small, slow driving tourist-road-train and itīs not possible to change lenses between the sight-seeing stops.
Iīve found some lenses (found sample-photos) but my recherches in combination with starburst-effect were not really satisfying.
The Pentax 18-250 and 18-270 lenses were not really good in this context and iīve found only the two Sigma 18-200 & 18-300 Contemporary lenses for Pentax, which generates starburst-effect.
Some old Tamron zoom lenses, especially the 18-250mm, is available at ebay, but still expensive (250 Euro) and a new Sigma Contemporary 18-200mm zoom lens costs 320 Euro.

Question: Did anybody know something about other (third party) zoomlenses, maybe other Tamron 18- >200mm or other matching Starburst-Effect-lenses ?

The other lenses for the Crete trip at the Pentax KP are:

Sigma 8-16mm
DA 15/4
DA 35/2.8
FA 43/1.9
FA 77/1.8
DA 20-40/2.8-4

Carry a DA15 or DA21 in your pocket for the starburst photos? Maybe get a second body?

It doesn't go to 200 or more, but the 18-135 can produce starbursts. At least I was able to do it...

In the context of starburst effect the reason for a superzoom lens should be: If I buy one lens, then with starburst effect.
Important if i donīt want to carry a bag, if i donīt want to change lenses - just to be prepared and to be able to use starburst-effect of the zomm lens, if i need it..

Nice lens, i own one - 135mm is a lil bit too short.

I don't think you are going to find what you want. Newer lenses are usually designed for strong flare resistance, which prevents good starbursts. Looking at the flickr pool for the Sigma 18-300, there are very few examples of "good" stars, and those images that have stars obviously used f/22 and a tripod. If you can take a tripod, you might as well take your DA 15 Ltd.

The Pentax 18-250 and 18-270 are rebadged versions of the Tamron 18-250 and 18-270.

Thanks for this info - good to know - it's now easier to find sample photos.

I really donīt need alternative, like a prime lens - there are al lot of them in my equipment. The DA15 is a part of my equipment - if i need this lens, iīll put in into my pocket - at night with tripod also. I need a superzoom lens. My Sigma 70-200/2.8 HSM II has really great starburst-effect from 70 to 200mm, unfortunately itīs a little bit too heavy and donīt have wideangle.

Iīm seeking which superzoom-lens provides the "better" starburst-effect.
