For a two-week kayak trip this summer, which included everything from medieval towns to wildlife, I assembled a "compact" kit consisting of my KP with two spare batteries, the DA 18-135mm, HD DA 15mm LTD and, of course, the HD DA 55-300mm PLM, all nicely fitting into a B&W Type 2000 case. Instead of a macro lens, I packed a marumi 330 (+3) Achromat in 58mm for the first time. That proved to be a more than respectable macro solution:
In fact, it's the first time I was tempted to use AF at macro distances. I still have to measure effective focal length/scale and determine the optimal f-stop. For the above, which has a lot more detail at full resolution, I used f/13 (nominal).
