The 55-300 is getting to be my preferred walk around. Just carry the 21 ltd in my pocket for when I need it.

the autofucus was spot on in dark. I also had the 1.4x tc on which I didn't need. I took one picture at f 9.5 1/60 and pushed that 5 stops. I got the flash and managed to get this one. you can see the mosquito on his belly by the hind leg.

I do not like opossums. Over the years they've killed a number of my chickens. But this is a nice shot. Great detail and good framing with the greenery.

This is from a recent trip to DC, shot from the opposite side of the mall reflecting pool so a hefty distance. Shot with a KP and cropped a bit to fill the frame. This lens is a powerhouse.

I might be going out to do fireworks pictures tonight - likely not using this lens. The fireworks will be in a location that has a distant view of the Toronto skyline over Lake Ontario, and this might be a good lens for that. Has anybody done night skylines with this particular lens? Any thoughts about doing this with this particular lens beyond the obvious general tripod / timer etc?

All were taken with my new K3II. The first two pictures of the Cedar Waxwings were prior to updating the firmware. I was fighting the meter while working with a very active subject. It is MUCH MUCH better after I spent the few minutes to update the firmware. Quiet and very responsive.

Super nice shots of the Waxwings and I love cat pictures that show character like the last one. Very nice!

Thanks! Linus is always a character and that is one of his favorite 'perches' in the house.

Here is Ralphie (also shot with the 55-300).
