First snow of 2019, and some action (gasp, with a Pentax?).

Common Brushtail Possum (possibly with a baby in her pouch). This ubiquitous marsupial is loved and hated in equal measures. I'm a fan (despite them apparently holding line-dancing classes on our roof every night), but if I were in NZ, where they were introduced with devastating results for the birdlife (they raid nests), I would definitely be in the other camp.

K-S2 + DA 55-300 PLM at 120mm. I was experimenting with off-camera flash, using my new Godox TT350P controlled by a Godox XProP mounted to the camera. Ideally, I guess, the flash would be in a 36" softbox just out of view, and the light would look like moonlight. But still .... just changing the source of the flash dramatically changed the effect.

Good catch. Our possums are much uglier in America.

A softbox with a 1/2 blue (ctb? ) gel would make for nice faux moonlight.

I’m a relatively new participating member. I have this lens and use it extensively. I’m posting here now just so I can remember to post pictures here later.

@mlt

Very good shots. Obviously some vignetting on FF, but the PLM basically can "do" FF if one "knows" its limitations

Two shots taken from my bathroom's window with the K-S1.

The DA 55-300 PLM is one of my most used lenses and I'm very happy with it.

Front porch safari with HD DA 55-300mm PLM

For some reason I was stuck home on a beautiful day so shot what I could from the front porch. That is the fattest 5 Line Skink I’ve ever seen. I’m surprised it can fit under my front steps.
