There were some serious issues with being unable to focus with it and probable decentered elements based on the shots he posted here. Let's hope the replacement is good.

Day 23: Breonna Taylor protesters

I accompanied social media broadcaster Tara Bassett to the Breonna Taylor protest site in downtown Louisville, KY again on Friday evening and Saturday morning. I had my “outdoor event rig”, K3II / 16-85 and K70 with 55-300PLM and an ultra wide angle in reserve. In this case, a GRIII with the ultra wide converter for more discrete shooting.

The 55-300 allows me to snipe individuals in the crowd and maintain social distancing. These two shots are of atypical protesters but the results endear this lens to me even further.

There’s about a 100 protest photos In an album on my Flickr page.

I’m not as techno savvy as I should be. This takes you the album.

Since I am not young nor a professional journalist, I limited my outings to day light hours only. Also, I’m still going through the photos taken during my 4 forays with Tara Bassett of Take It From Tara social media broadcasts.

Turned out to be fine. I took your link from your signature.

It's been years since I went to a protest. Back in the 60s and early 70s I went to lots of them. It's good to understand how far we've come, but sad to see how far we have to go.

Yeah, I’m 70 years old. I did my active protesting in the late Sixties and early 70s before marrying and settling down. Now I spend a lot of time with my bestie, Tara Bassett, a social activist and media professional who advocates for the homeless, veterans, the mentally ill, the addicted, animal rights and civil rights. She was instrumental in getting me back into photography after a period of inactivity by giving me a reason to equip and shoot through her causes.

That said, if you ever see any tear gas smoke or blood in my protest photos figure I’ve made an error in judgement.

Well then, I can call you "junior" and demand you respect your elders. (I'm 71)
I once went to Washington from Detroit to see MLK. These days, the inability of anyone to stop violent looters etc.from co-opting peaceful demonstrations and using them for cover for illegal acts keeps me away.
