Tokina/Pentax 11-18 F2.8 ???

Anybody know if / when a Pentax version or Tokina's own in Pentax mount will eventually appear? Pentax' lens road map doesn't say anything about it but this is not a reliable indicator in my opinion.

Reviews (on Canon mount) are very favorable re. distortion and sharpness, a bit less so in terms of CA. Really need an fast ultra-wide zoom... My DA14 f2.8 does not cut it on the K20D.

I would have thought the 14mm would be spectacular on the K20D. Pentax is supposed to release the DA 15mm ltd sometime in the future. Tokina seems to have pulled in on releasing any Pentax mount lenses since Pentax was acquired by Hoya.

must it be 2.8? there's the DA 14-24 f4 and the Tamron 10-24 f3.5-4.5 which hopefully will be out soon

Have both the DA14 (for quite a while now) and the DA12-24.

Blue, the DA14 is indeed good, but mainly in the center; you have to stop it down quite a bit, f8 and more, to get it to sharpen in the corners. Besides, it has the weird moustache distortion that is practically impossible top correct via software. Your comment regarding Hoya makes sense, no more "jointly developed" lenses...

K110d, yes, I am looking for a fast zoom for low light work. Again, the DA12-24 is a fantastic lense but with significant distortion at the widest end and corner blurriness unless you stop it down past f5.6.

From what I've read in reviews, the Tokina is evenly sharp and virtually absent of distortion (from memory) right off f2.8

I am anxious to see the DA15ltd, but I doubt this is going to be a fast lens considering "limited's" are historically compact designs.
